14. The Tackiest People Encounters Of Craft Fairs.
The Tackiest People Encounters Of Craft Fairs.
Have you ever wondered what it's like to work at a craft fair? Well. let me tell you, it's not fun or glamorous, but the tacky people can sometimes be entertaining! I am a jewelry artist and a stay-at-home mom. Three years ago I started my own business called Feminine Flair Jewelry and began selling my handmade jewelry to friends and family. That was going well and I was receiving many compliments, so I thought, why not expand into craft fairs? I will tell you now that you can always make more money at home parties and have more fun than at any craft fair.
The negatives of craft fairs are that they attract people who are tacky and cheap. Now, I am not talking about quality art fairs, art shows put on by artists' organizations (I belonged to the Leavenworth Artists' Association in Leavenworth, KS and they have several profitable and fun shows a year), ladies' night out (these are usually profitable), or holiday shows where people are shopping for Christmas gifts. I am speaking specifically right now about your average, small town fairs and craft fairs. If you think that it would be fun to rent a booth at one of these for your home business, let me let you in on a few things to consider first. Your day starts out at about 5 a.m. when you get up, load up your car with all your folding tables, merchandise and food for the day, and drive to the town where the fair is going to be. Then, you have to unload your stuff in all kinds of weather (I've been rained on, snowed on, and had 100 degree heat), and drag it a few blocks from the parking lot designated for vendors to your actual assigned spot. Sometimes you don't even have an assigned spot and it's first come, first served, which is even worse. While you are setting up all your merchandise, you are usually dealing with other vendors who are sleep deprived and grouchy.
I usually try to do all this with a smile on my face because according to my 6-yr-olds' book about the human body, it takes 19 muscles in your face to smile and 43 to frown! Sometimes others appreciate my positiveness and it gets them in a better mood too, but for those Ultra Oscar the Grouch types, this seems to make them even madder. Well, usually when they find out I have more unique and original jewelry designs at cheaper prices than their run-of-the-mill stuff they don't like me anyway.
After all your equipment is set up, you usually sit there for 2 to 3 hours before your first sale occurs. This is because most of these po-dunk fairs require you to be there way earlier than anyone would actually show up to shop. By the time the first round of customers start showing up, you usually have to pee really bad!

17. William Shakespeare is customary regarded to be the finest dramatist the world has ever seen and the greatest poet who has created his plays in the English language.
William Shakespeare is customary regarded to be the finest dramatist the world has ever seen and the greatest poet who has created his plays in the English language. Besides, Shakespeare has been the world’s most famous author. No other writer’s works have been published so many times or read so broadly in so many places.
Shakespeare knew human nature as few other writers have. He could notice in a particular dramatic case the qualities that refer to all human beings. He could thus produce characters that have notion beyond the time and place of his works. Yet, his characters are not symbolic people. They are prominent individual human beings. They strive just as people do in real situations, sometimes fruitfully and at times with troublesome and tragic mischance.
Shakespeare created at least 37 works. These works include vivid characters of all kinds and from walks of reality. Kings, pickpockets, thieves, shepherds and philosophers, generals and hired killers all intermix in Shakespeare’s writings. In supplement to his deep conception of human nature, Shakespeare had knowledge in a broad diversity of other subjects. These subjects contain music, the law, art, and politics, the Bible, military science, history and sports. Yet, Shakespeare had no professional knowledge in any subject to the exclusion of the theatre.
Above all other writers stands William Shakespeare, the greatest genius whom it is not possible to characterize shortly. Shakespeare is outstanding as poet and individual, but he stays elusive. The solidity and deep popularity of his taste gave him the possibility to lead the Renaissance in England without privileging or prejudicing any one of its various aspects, while as actor, playwright, and stockholder in the Lord Chamberlain’s players he was drawn into the Elizabethan theatre at every degree. His career (dated from 1589 to 1613) was just within the time of greatest literary prosperity, and only in his writings are all the possibilities of the Renaissance totally realized.
The embroilments and discrepancies of Shakespeare’s epoch find their highest flourish in his tragedies. In these outstanding achievements, all worthies, hierarchies, and types are examined and found wanting, and all society’s hidden conflicts are displayed. Shakespeare opposes husband against wife, mother against child, the individual against state; he uncrowns viceroys, equates the nobleman with the wretched, and questions the gods. In the main tragedies that follow, Shakespeare’s practice cannot be rationed to a single general phrase that covers all situations, for each tragedy refers to a separate type: revenge tragedy in “Hamlet”, domestic tragedy in “Othello”, social tragedy in “King Lear” and so on.
Shakespeare changed the drama, widening the audience’s concept of human life and changed the language. His writings, then as now, addressed to a great audience. They reveal both a fundamental knowledge of literature and a deep sympathy with the language and conduct of the ordinary man. The discerning commercial dramatist and the extraordinary gifted artist cannot be divided.
William Shakespeare coped with the difficult plot of “Hamlet” perfectly. In this production, he also produced maybe his greatest gallery of characters.

21. Angela Comben, Australian and African Wildlife Artist, photo realism pursued to perfection
As an editorial stock photographer you are not coached or art-directed by someone else, as is the case in commercial photography. You make the decisions. As an editorial stock photographer your mission is to produce images of the world, as you see it. This is the same license given to any artist. If you are constrained as an artist, then you are influenced, and if you are influenced, your directions are coming from someone other than you. If this be the case, then the photograph is not really your artistry.
Society would prefer that artists produce material that is 'politically correct,' or to put it another way, to not produce material that is considered insensitive to local, regional, or national mores.
Within our own industry, critics of your editorial stock photography will often wave the banner of "ethics," claiming that you have overstepped certain boundaries in photographing wildlife, or natural objects as Wildlife Artist. Or that you're intruding into the private lives of individuals or government officials.
What does "ethics" have to do with art? Or don't you consider yourself an artist? If you think of yourself as an engineer, or a technician, maybe ethics plays a role.
What society calls unethical today, can change tomorrow. Not unlike the fashion industry, or our own industry.
For example, a couple of decades ago, photographers were wringing their hands over the possibility that digital photography would disrupt the 'ethical purity' of a photograph by allowing the manipulation of the contents to create an altered image from the original. Today, the voices of protest have subsided and society accepts a digitized image.
This seems to be a cultural question. I don't think that before digitizing, or before film for that matter, artists ever thought of "ethics" in their art. Before film and digits, there were sketches, oils, pastels, watercolors, engravings, lithographs -- and no one ever asked the artist if he or she were being 'ethical' by manipulating a scene to change it or improve it.
Photography, in my opinion, was never meant to be a mechanical art where the medium was in control, not the photographer. Editorial stock photography allows you to go beyond the mere 'taking' of a picture. It allows you to make a picture - and that's being a Wildlife Artist.

26. Metal Garden Furniture has always been a popular way to decorate gardens even during the Victorian times. With proper maintenance, this furniture can easily last for many years. Hence it is seen that some people are still using metal furniture in their gardens, which were made in the Victorian era. Metal Garden Furniture has both style, and durability features, which makes it the preferred choice of garden furniture.
The options available in Metal Garden Furniture range from, lightweight aluminum that is quite recent to the more traditional iron. It is possible to obtain a piece of Metal Garden Furniture that blends well with the garden. A few metal chairs and a bistro table are a classic addition that can change the entire look of the garden. These furniture pieces are often light and therefore portable, and hence can be used in various areas of the garden. In such cases there is an added advantage of shifting them as per the season and the flowering pattern.
The all time favorite of all the Metal Garden Furniture is the classic single ornate iron bench. This adds elegance to the garden in a way that no other furniture can. They can also act as focal points, and draw attention away from less interesting sections of the garden.
Ornate iron benches can also be used for decorative purposes, by placing various pots around it. A garden statue can also be placed next the bench to add a touch of ?lan and verve.
Metal chairs of different colors could also be scattered around the garden, to add a touch of color in case there are few flowerbeds. In case the garden is choc-a- bloc with flowers of different colors, then it is advisable to go in for neutral shades of metal chairs. A metal lounge chair can be the ultimate fashion statement.
In the category of Metal Garden Furniture, there are the traditional iron garden furniture and the modern lightweight aluminum furniture to choose from. Even having a few metal chairs and a bistro table added to the smallest patio area is sufficient as garden furniture. This furniture is light, and portable, making it easily utilized in many areas of the garden, giving you the benefit of having changes made in the garden on both a daily basis, or over the seasons. Having a single ornate iron bench too can set off a Victorian style garden, as it is an excellent focal point which helps in dressing up the less interesting sections of the garden. The iron bench in the garden can be used not only for sitting, but you can easily make it a centre piece of attraction by placing several pots around it with a garden statue on it.
Make your garden more colorful by choosing some metal chairs of different colors. Putting them in front of evergreen shrubs makes a statement. Whereas if your garden is colorful, choose metal furniture with neutral colors like white or black to add a calmer effect to the garden.
